- Listening to ELisabeth Bridge2012-07-02 | just working on | read post
Jodi Rose was in Kibu today and after a short introduction and discussion we went out to Elisabet Bridge, to listen to the inside noises of the bridge. It was sometimes surprising what noises came from the structure sometimes it was clearly generated from the transit traffic.
We had another discussion on the ways she should complete her project with the bridges of Budapest. I look forward to it!

We just made a funny Friday hack in kibu with an iMac desktop computer. Although iMacs have no built-in motion sensor we found a way you can simulate it. Can you guess how? Of course using the built-in camera image :)
For what reason would you lift up that heavy iMac and move it... we don`t know... - Light Graffiti2012-05-10 | just working on | read post
This is what we`ve done recently for a commission by Magyar Telekom. It is another drawing application but the visuals look like neon glow. Also pay attention on how we handled the gesture of lifting the "spray" by the multiplication and parallax effect on the hand cursor.
The idea was to make the visuals similar to the traditional light graffiti that you can create with a light source photographed with long exposure. - Snake charmer2012-04-02 | just working on | read post
An old Nokia phone keyboard hacked, connected to an Arduino through series of relays, which was controlled by Max/MSP.
What is it good for? Of course we wanted to control the old Nokia Snake game by recorders! See the results on the video!

Just uploaded this improved video of Reconstruct Trinity Kick project. Some thoughts came along while rethinking the project.
One of the inspirations comes from the well-known scene of the Matrix film where Trinity jumps and the time freezes while the camera turns around.
What is engaging in post apocalyptic fictions?
Seeing all the cultural assets destroyed, which ensures our everyday life at a level we all got used to. How to start over when all elements of our civilized world disappear? What is the substance of civilization at all? All the gigantic machineries built for serving our comfort that we all refer to as “big cities”? Or is the civilization interiorized in our mindset? Does the destruction of the physical assets mean an inevitable downgrading of the quality of life or is it rather a chance to make a jump to a new level? A jumping gesture in the emptiness of ruins is a good start. Do you think that`s air you`re breathing now? - Kinect Wings2012-03-10 | just working on | read post
Today`s craziness from KIBU`s Friday`s Hacking session. See what is possible today with just a few hours of hacking! Thanx to Arduino, Processing, Kinect and Synapse and of course the Tiny Wings game by Andreas Illiger!
It turned out to be really enjoyable (and tiring) to play :)
Have a look at the project page for more details!
If you want to make your own Kinect Wings you will find the codes and instructions needed here:

Somebody who always speaks about hacking but doesn`t like to write code so much... a story from the very heart of the most inspiring lively-techy-hacky underground culture.
