S39 Hybrid Design
Convening Art, Architecture, Design, and Technology (...and trying to figure out what it all means)
A talking concrete wall? For S39, that's just Tuesday. Another day at the office. But for the people who experienced it? They started to gradually agree with the walls' design choices.

S39 is a design studio that, somewhat ambitiously, attempts to simultaneously juggle architecture, interior design, and… conceptual art. Which, frankly, sounds like a recipe for a very interesting therapy session. They have a peculiar fascination with materials like concrete and glass, which they use with a level of creativity that borders on scientific experimentation, often inventing new mixes or applications that, one hopes, won't collapse.
They're also fond of bold and surprising gestures in their projects. They often integrate interactive technology, because, you know, why design a rational space when you can make it beep and flash and generally question the nature of reality? They also insist their work is about communication, inclusivity, playfulness, and addressing global and ecological problems. Which, to be fair, is a lot to ask from a concrete wall.
Located in downtown Budapest, their studio is a small, perpetually busy coworking space. Collaborating with their team in this dynamic environment led to 'inspiring' collaborations. Inspiring, I imagine, in the way a caffeine-fueled brainstorming session at 3 a.m. is inspiring.
